The frosting was lovely although was more of a caramel than toffee flavour. The sponge was lovely and moist, which was surprising as it is a different recipe to the usual Hummingbird cupcakes. The dates were supposed to give them the toffee texture and flavour, it kind of worked but they didn't melt as much as I thought they might?
Still - they were tasty :-)
